Regional training days – 2022/23 cycle. Dates released and volunteers needed!

Dear all

The dates have been set for the 2022/23 LSP regional training days, hosted in conjunction with the Royal Society of Medicine.  These have been running online during COVID, but we are keen to move back to hosting face to face events for at least some of the programme.  We will therefore be running a hybrid programme where there are some F2F  and some fully online training days.

Traditionally pitched at level 2 trainees, but open to everyone, the regional training days help to update your knowledge of important topics and meet key curriculum competencies that can be difficult to achieve in the workplace.  F2F events will also offer additional opportunities for networking and interaction with the LSP training leads.

The events are organised and hosted by trainee volunteers with an interest in that subspecialty (Grid or SPIN, or aspiring towards either of these), or interested in Medical Education, and are supported by the three Curriculum Delivery TPDs:  Jane Runnacles, Caroline Scott-Lang and Matko Marlais.  Organizers have previously found this to be a rewarding experience and it is a fantastic addition to your CV.  If you would like to be involved in organising a study day, please contact the relevant TPD ASAP – please note that some topics get a lot of volunteers and you may not be able to help with this cycle, but we can bear you in mind for future events or online learning.

We would be grateful if trust reps and rota coordinators could work together locally to maximise attendance.  We appreciate that there have been some clashes with half term and a couple of Mondays too but we have limited choice of available sessions.  Virtual sessions will be available to view for 1 month after the event.

The RSM will open up booking for these events as soon as possible.  Advance booking via the website is strongly recommended.  Please be aware that for F2F events, space is limited and while on the day registration is typically available, catering is only provided for those who have pre-registered and for popular events entry cannot be guaranteed.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact Caroline on
