Transition to Leadership

Transition to Leadership is a free 2-day course organised by the London School of Paediatrics to help prepare paediatric SHOs for the transition to registrars. This well-established course ran for several years face-to-face and has now been adapted to run virtually from 2021.

Topics covered include:

• Life as a new SpR
• Leading at night
• Child protection
• Consent
• When a child dies
• Delegation and conflict resolution
• Complaints and serious incidents

As part of the course, you will also have access to a wealth of excellent online resources from other registrars who have recently gone through the transition process.

I am not a London trainee, can I still attend? 

Spaces are limited and priority for this course is given to those in London training posts. If you are not in a London training post but are due to start your first paediatric registrar post in Sept 2023, please do not book through Medtribe and instead email t2l@doctors.org.uk to register your interest. You will be contacted if spaces are available.
