Retention TPD Nia Williams is offering an exit interview to all trainees who resign from the training programme. This is an opportunity for us to gather feedback about the training programme and improve things for current and future trainees.
We have also studied data for the past 5 years of resignations from the programme and noticed there are key stages where resignation is more likely. We are working on targeted support for residents at key stages of training including additional support for those going OOP and additional support for those returning to work. Additional ‘mini trainee contact meetings’ are also being offered in a bid to offer more face-to-face support for residents.
