The GRID/SPIN evening ('To GRID/SPIN or not to GRID/SPIN') is an annual virtual event for all paediatric trainees to provide information, support and guidance for applying for sub-specialisation through GRID or SPIN training. It consists of session on why to, and why not to undertake GRID training or a SPIN module, a talk from a representative from the RCPCH with details about eligibility and the application process, followed by the opportunity to speak with current trainees and consultants in your specialty of interest in breakout rooms. These groups are informal, and provide general information, guidance on what the career is like, what training entails and how to ace your application.
The event takes place around October each year, and will be publicised well in advance.
