Paediatric Emergency Medicine Clinical Fellow at University College London Hospital

Applications are welcomed from dynamic and enthusiastic ST4+ Paediatric trainees to consolidate Paediatric Emergency Medicine competencies for those interested in PEM with a view to Grid application or to upskill in acute paediatric medicine and trauma.  40% of the post will be dedicated to developing an interest in one of the following:

  • Education and  Simulation Fellowship – Broad based practical training in education and simulation with development of an ED based multidisciplinary education programme.  Opportunity to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education at UCL.
  • Research and Quality Improvement Fellowships – Opportunities to pursue research include evaluation of digital interventions, artificial intelligence in Emergency Medicine (UCL- Turing partnership), health services research, clinical trials, novel therapeutics and diagnostics.  Established links exist with the sepsis network and PERUKI. Opportunity to develop and complete QI projects with expertise and ground support of the research and quality improvement teams.

The post holder will be allocated 60% of their working time to clinical duties in the Paediatric Emergency Medicine and 40% to establish skills and achieve outcomes in an area of interest, as above. This is an ideal OOPE opportunity.  Start date August/September 2020 for 12 months.
