MRCPCH Exam preparation course focussing on TAS and FOP
We will be running a preparation course for level 1 trainees sitting their TAS and FOP exams on Friday 23rd November and Saturday 24th November this year. We have run a course for local trainees twice over the last 12 months and felt we had some spare capacity to offer an opportunity for trainees and other doctors working outside the training programme to visit Newcastle and participate in the course.
Our experience has been that some trainees struggle with approaches to learning clinical material in a way that adequately prepares them for the exams. We feel the key to preparing for the exams is to understand how best to work towards acquiring and being able to access the relevant knowledge and our plan would be to hold two half day sessions (Friday morning and Saturday morning) focussing on for both exam preparation and exam performance. This will utilise numerous example questions in specific topic areas. The main focus is on TAS but there is overlap with FOP. The Friday afternoon will focus on some specific areas of clinical interest, drawing on some of the experts working in the North east who can provide insights into core science underpinning their areas of expertise.
We are offering the course at cost and the only fee would be a notional £25 Admin/catering charge. The course will start at 0930 Friday, 0900 on Saturday and finish by 1700 on Friday and 1300 on Saturday.
Interested individuals should contact Adele Simpson (firstname.lastname@example.org) at HEE NE office. We can provide information about local accommodation.
