Genomics is rapidly transforming the landscape of paediatrics, offering insights into the diagnosis and management of a wide range of childhood diseases. To help paediatric trainees navigate this evolving field, we are organising an upcoming Genomics Study Day on Monday 19th October 2026, designed to provide practical guidance on how to order genomic tests, understand the consent process, and integrate genomics into everyday clinical practice.
In preparation, we recommend exploring key resources such as GeNotes by Health Education England's Genomics Education Programme, which provides concise, practical summaries on genomic testing (Genotes). Other valuable tools include to include the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health Genomics Toolkitand the NHS Genomic Medicine Servicewebsite, both offering essential information for trainees on the latest genomic advancements and patient care practices.
