Tuesday 7th May 2019: Preparing to be a new consultant, Dr Ellie Bond & Dr Siobhan Jaques

Following the LME session in January on preparing for the consultant interview, join us to discover what you need to know about becoming a new consultant. Gain a perspective from two consultants who understand navigating that first mysterious year from their own recent experiences! This session will be led by Dr Ellie Bond, Consultant Paediatrician, Royal Free Hospital and Dr Siobhan Jaques, Consultant Neonatologist, Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

Thursday 23rd May 2019: Tricky Topics with John James, Sickle Cell Society CEO, OBE

When was the last time you were in the same room as a healthcare CEO? What are the burning questions that you have always wanted to ask a top-level decision maker?

John James, OBE, is the Chief Executive of the UK Sickle Cell Society, and has enjoyed a long and successful career working in the health sector. He has 33 years of experience within the NHS, including 4 CEO roles, becoming the first Afro-Caribbean Chief Executive and winning a national NHS leadership award.

Bring your tricky questions about what it takes to become an NHS CEO, the daily responsibilities, the reality for clinicians in leadership and management, and the drive for diversity & inclusion.
