Regional training days for 2024/25

Dear all

We have set the dates for the 2024/25 cycle of regional training days, hosted in conjunction with the Royal Society of Medicine.  We are continuing the hybrid programme of virtual and F2F events.

These study days help to update your knowledge of important topics and meet key curriculum competencies that can be difficult to achieve in the workplace.  F2F events will also offer additional opportunities for networking and interaction with the LSP training leads.

The events are organised and hosted by trainee volunteers with an interest in that subspecialty (Grid or SPIN, or aspiring towards either of these), or interested in Medical Education, and are supported by the three Curriculum Delivery TPDs:  Jane Runnacles, Caroline Scott-Lang and Ellie Bond.

We have had lots of interest already from trainee organisers and most dates are now sorted with a full organising team. If you would like to register interest for future events, please contact Caroline.

The dates are:

Tuesday 1st October 2024 – Paediatric Emergency Medicine (Jane)  FACE TO FACE

Tuesday 22nd October 2024 – Respiratory and ENT (Ellie) VIRTUAL

Wednesday 20th November 2024 – Community Paediatrics (Caroline)  VIRTUAL

Please can trust reps and rota coordinators work together locally to maximise attendance.  We appreciate that the dates are not going to suit everyone but the dates are fixed by the RSM and we are enormously grateful for their support with these events.  We acknowledge an increase in virtual sessions but it is very difficult to find space that can accommodate our numbers in a central London location.  Virtual sessions will be available to view for 1 month after the event and you can still book study leave for catch up sessions.

The RSM will open up booking for these events as soon as possible.  Advance booking via the website is strongly recommended.  Please be aware that for F2F events, space is limited and while on the day registration is typically available, catering is only provided for those who have pre-registered and for popular events entry cannot be guaranteed.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact Caroline on
