RCPCH &Us (children, young people and families programme at RCPCH) are doing a new project as part of the ICYP Engagement Committee and are looking for 5-10 trainees to join us for a workshop on Nov 3rd. The session will bring together trainees and young people to developing a new training package looking at involving children and young people’s voice in shaping services.
As we now have 18,000 members, we are thinking about how best to share information, training, learning, best practice and all the different elements of strategic voice with our members – far too many to come in for a course! To date we have spoken with the ICYP engagement committee (10), young people/parent carers (35), paediatricians through 3 interviews and a session at the clinical leads day (19). We are also running 4 x one day engagement courses with a mix of paediatricians, health workers and voluntary sector workers this month and will be getting some ideas from them too (www.rcpch.ac.uk/cyp-voice-courses).
On November 3rd we hope to bring all of the ideas, comments and learning so far and have an interactive session looking at the coming up with a new plan, with young people, paediatricians and parent/carers developing key messages about strategic voice, creating content that can be used in different ways to support learning.
If you are interested in joining the workshop on November 3rd. please get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org for further details.
