Attention all ST3’s: Transition to Leadership Course-2020 dates announced!

What is Transition to Leadership?

Transition to Leadership is a free 3-day course organised by the London School of Paediatrics for paediatric ST3 trainees to help them prepare for the transition to ST4. The course is run primarily by registrars who have recently made the transition themselves.

 

What does the course cover?

Transition to Leadership covers a range of topics including:

-Life as a new SpR

-Leading at night

-Updates on child protection and consent

-Understanding emergency referral and retrieval pathways

-End of life care

-Negotiation and conflict resolution

-Decision making

-Putting leadership into practice

 

Who should attend?

London paediatric ST3/OOP trainees due to start ST4 in September.

Other attendees will be considered but please email prior to discuss with the team (t2l@doctors.org.uk)

 

When is Transition to Leadership held?

Days 1 and 2 will be run twice, with a choice of:

11thand 12thMay 2020 OR 18thand 19thJune 2020

Venue: London (TBC)

You can attend either the May or June dates.  You must be able to attend both consecutive days. Days 1 and 2 cover topics we know people are anxious about before they transition.

Day 3 runs once in the Autumn. Date TBC.

Day 3 covers topics that require some personal experience leading to get the most benefit.

Due to the popularity of this course, we require a £50 deposit to be paid, to be refunded (minus a small administrative charge paid to Eventbrite,) after attendance on the date.
