And we are off….the September NCEL Blog

And we kick off a new academic year with a fabulous welcome to all our new Trust reps. This month’s STC provided an inspiring summary of all the great work of all the subgroups of the London School of Paediatrics and thinking about how we shape the future of training. Look on the LSP website for more information (https://londonpaediatrics.co.uk/committee-trust-reps/).

JiGs (job information guide)- A plea to Trust reps to update the JiG for their Trusts. If you want to a copy of the old one to start you off, please contact Priyen Shah (TC Chair).

LTFT- paediatric pilot from November that you can apply to go LTFT as a choice. This is a 12 month pilot building from the RCEM experience. You need to give minimum 6 months notice.

OOPs- LSP are very supportive of OOP applications. The Gold Guide has been updated and guides all processes. We would encourage all trainees & trainers to please have a read.

Tammy, College Tutor, shared a good news story about really successful supported return to clinical training. Do get in touch with the Return to clinical practice team for more information (see LSP website for contact details) who run a fabulous course and provide heaps of advice. Trainees returning to clinical practice after a period of time away are also given priority on the UCLH “Essential survival guide to NICU” run twice in March & twice in September.

Lots of information on the LSP website. Check it out!
